THE NORDIC BARNHOUSE PROJECT
We were lucky enough to shoot our AW23 campaign at The Nordic Barnhouse Project. Constructed from traditional Nordic materials, this wooden house was designed by Bruno Jakobsen to seamlessly blend into the natural surroundings. Planks of cedar wood that cover the external façade will over time fade to a dull grey, creating the effect it is an organic part of the landscape.
Built on 10,000m2 of forest, the house features a glass orangery that connects the main house and 37m ‘long house’ in harmonious natural wood. This exquisite building offers a unique taste of living fully immersed in nature and served as the perfect setting to showcase our AW23 collection.

BRUNO JACOBSEN
With a great love for nature and Nordic architecture, Bruno and his family created The Nordic Barnhouse Project on Instagram which documents both his private and work life and boasts over 165.000 followers.
The plot of the home was carefully decided by Jakobsen based on his careful study of the area; he spent the best part of a year recording the sun’s movement across the plot, observing how the light filtered through the trees. In fact, is was in part this wide variety of native trees that were key to the design; beech, pine, oak, hazel, cherry and elder trees were all to be preserved without compromise.
